Commissioned Security Officer Certification – Texas

This advanced course is required by the Texas Department of Public Safety for individuals seeking registration as a Commissioned Security Officer. It includes classroom instruction and firearms training, preparing students for armed security roles with a strong emphasis on legal compliance, tactical readiness, and professional conduct.

• Duration: Minimum 40 hours (as required by Texas DPS)
• Format: In-person classroom and live-fire range instruction
• Certification: Certificate of Completion (Level 3 Training)

• Valid government-issued ID
• No felony convictions
• Must complete Level 2 training prior to enrollment

 Purpose: Identify vulnerabilities, strengthen safety protocols, and align security measures with ministry values. 

 Scope of Work:

• Comprehensive on‑site evaluation of facilities (entry points, parking, sanctuary, classrooms, offices).
• Review of current emergency plans, volunteer procedures, and communication systems.
• Risk analysis for theft, violence, medical emergencies, and child safety.

Purpose: Equip church staff and volunteers to respond decisively and safely during violent threats.

 Format Options:

• 4‑hour on‑site workshop.
• 2‑hour condensed seminar for leadership teams.
• Full‑day certification course with live drills

Purpose: Teach staff and volunteers how to calm tense situations while maintaining ministry values.
